Objective
I am a highly trained international sea captain with worldwide sailing experience. I have extensive experience sailing on large sailing vessels, tall ships, small yachts and power driven vessels. Whether for charters, deliveries, as a private captain or as a sailing instructor, I have expertise in blue water voyages, sail training, and heavy weather sailing. I have sailed worldwide with multiple ocean crossings, including experience in some of the most difficult sailing areas of the Southern Ocean around Cape Horn.
I hold Dutch, UK, and US credentials that include Master Sailing Ships (Unlimited Worldwide), Chief Mate All Ships less than 3000 tons, Yachtmaster Ocean and U.S. Master 100 tons uninspected vessels . I am also a certified ASA and RYA Sailing Instructor.
Originally from the Netherlands, I now reside in Virginia with my wife and continue to sail professionally worldwide.
