Yacht Delivery
I relocate sailing vessels for private owners, companies and yacht builders. This includes coastal, inland waters, and ocean passages worldwide. Care for your yacht and safety during any passage always comes first. Deliveries are carried out professionally with professional crew.

My aim is to make every delivery a straightforward operation. Clear pricing with no hidden costs. I only work with an experienced, professional crew with the proper credentials that will ensure the safety and care of your boat. The number of crew depends on the vessel complexity, size, and nature of the delivery.
Yacht delivery crew are often ASA or RYA instructors, professional super-yacht crew, and frequently work as crew or Captain on commercial vessels. They have the necessary experience to safely sail your yacht to any destination of your choosing.
THE DELIVERY PROCESS
Pre-departure checks
We check all boat systems and perform a rigorous rig check before we leave the harbor with your yacht. All checks are carried out according to a detailed checklist. We prevent any possible damage to the interior by covering all vulnerable surfaces with protective cladding. Outside, we wrap any item that may cause rubbing or chafing during the delivery. These extensive checks usually take at least 24 hours. If we find anything not functioning properly that might affect the delivery, we will report this to the owner. In consultation with the owner, we will make repairs or have repairs made by a specialist, if necessary.
Another important issue is the weather. We will check the forecast long before departure and make sure that we are able to reach our destination under acceptable sailing conditions.
Underway
As soon as we begin the voyage, we will establish a watch keeping schedule to maintain the best possible rate of progress towards our destination. Whenever possible, we will proceed under sail. If necessary, we will start the engine and motor sail if there is no wind. We sail 24 hours a day and stop only for refueling, provisions or to seek shelter in case of severe weather.
We usually proceed even under circumstances where most leisure sailors would choose to stay ashore. However, safety and care for your yacht are the first priority, so if I decide that (expected) conditions are too severe to safely proceed, we will head for shelter or a safe heaven. We always sail conservatively to prevent any damage to your boat. You are always able to track our progress and reach us by satellite phone.
Arrival
After reaching our destination, your boat will be checked thoroughly again and a complete detailed report on the condition of the vessel will be provided. All necessary paperwork will be taken care of and we will not leave your boat unless convinced that your boat is safe.
Customs and clearance procedures
Customs and clearance procedures are to be taken seriously and sometimes seem to appear complex. I have experience with these procedures, as I have sailed to many countries around the world. Good preparation and proper understanding of these issues prevent any problems with authorities. Prior advice on VAT/sales tax and import/export issues beforehand will prevent problems altogether. The use of a local agent is recommended and prevents any issues from arising.
